Carbon Offsetting

Carbon Offsetting

What is Carbon Offsetting?

• Carbon Offsetting involves buying a volume of Voluntary Carbon Units reflective of a company’s associated carbon emissions

 • Offsetting carbon emissions is achieved by funding an equivalent CO2e reduction project elsewhere;

- Carbon Project Developers “sell” Carbon units (credits) to Carbon buyers

 - Buyer must then “secure” Carbon Unit on behalf of Fuel Distributor

- And provide certification proving it hasn’t been sold to anyone else

• We do not directly buy land, plant trees or cultivate forests - This is done by existing and well-established Carbon Project Developers

• Carbon Offsetting provides a pragmatic and cost-effective solution for reducing CO2 emissions that can not be otherwise avoided

How Offsetting Works

 We only offer Carbon Units certificated to meet the following criteria;

- Additionality; genuinely new projects that are not already financed

- Voluntary; projects that are not required by legislation

- Permanent; projects that are long-term and sufficiently funded

- No incremental emissions; CO2 emissions are not created elsewhere

- Verified; projects that are authenticated to the highest level
